Of a truth, I have seen for myself how teenagers seem to be obsessed with their looks. Yet I find it a little too awkward and far-fetched to say that many consider the option of plastic surgery. In fact, that idea would unlikely come across my mind, especially since I do not hear many cases of my teenage friends altering their appearances through this means.

At their present age, teenagers tend to be more conscious of how people see them.
They also want to look perfect in the eyes of others. Unfortunately, they become overboard and go to the mirror umpteen times on impulse and this eventually leads to becoming increasingly vain. Undoubtedly, it is rather clear-cut that many teenagers find it hard to keep school rules that touch on attire, wanting to look 'cool' or 'pretty'.

Still, I dare say that the media is the domineering factor for teenagers' obsessions over their looks. Daily we are bombarded with advertisements suggesting a wide array of ways to look more beautiful. These advertisements are captivating and often misleading. On top of that, the media is also fuelling the young's obsessions with images of celebrities smiling at the camera. These famous icons have appearances that appeal to crowds and determine what is fashionable to look like. Many fans yearn for their appearances to parallel that of stars in the hope that they will be more noticeable by others, some start to associate themselves with their idols. In worse cases, they may even disdain to acts like stealing a Jay Chou CD from a 7-eleven store.

Many people go for plastic surgery in order to offset anything they resent about their body, most of which harbour feelings of low self-esteem. There are exceptions, of course. Those born with deformities ought to go for plastic surgery as they do not wish to attract unwanted attention and invite gossip. They should go for surgery if the defect is severe enough and they find it reasonably affordable. I would not advise others to do so as it is hard to say whether the operation would prove to be futile as it might worsen the condition instead of eradicating the flaws in one's appearance.

All in all, I feel that teenagers should not be obsessed with appearances, but rather realize that there are better things in life waiting for them. External beauty does not last for eternity, neither does it secure a place in a university. With education and strong character, succeeding in life would not be too great a challenge. Nobody is born flawless. Likewise, nobody is fated to be sheer ugly. Everyone is attractive in his or her own way. As the saying goes, beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. While teenagers should be made aware of the pros and cons of plastic surgery, parents should highlight the importance of their studies - the one thing that is crucial for them now.

Again, I would like to reiterate that teenagers should not feel degraded when teased by others about his or her appearance. As long as one has a good sense of self-esteem, appearance should not be a problem.

After all, why risk life and limb just to look good?

“Teenagers today are too obsessed with their looks. Many of them consider getting plastic surgery to alter their appearance.”

This statement can be both true and unture depending on point of view.

Firstly, the true. Teens now a day seriously are very obsessed with their looks from their shoes to their clothes to their hair even the smallest details like earring need to be fashionable. Teens nowadays have a wide array of ways to get money thus keeping up with the ways to look good. Some teens considers plastic surgery as a practical way. Firstly it is permanent, secondly looking good practically makes u look fashionable with almost anything u wear. The obsession usually are caused dued to teens finding ways to attract the opposite sex and teens finding a way to "stick out from the crowd". To teens looking good means a promising future.

Secondly, the untrue. Teens usually do not consider plastic sugery as the cost is high and it is not 100% succesfull. Yes, I mentioned that teens could easily get money but what are the odds they can make with thousands of dollars, unless you are very rich but which parent would allow their child to go tru this at an age like this. Teens are going tru pubety at their age. Their looks make changed overtime. The high risks and cost of plastic surgery is what make most teens not consider this way.

To end it off, I would like to say that is better to live with the looks you are born with. Who knows? Maybe it will pay off in the future.

Teenagers indeed find looks getting more and more important as they believe that first impression will give them a boost in whatever they do. They also think that by being more attractive, they tend to attract the opposite sex more and become more popular in the school. Not only they decide to go for plastic surgery, they may also resort into starving themselves, like when they're forced to eat, they'll go to the toilet after that, dig down deep into their throats and then food will be puked out, restricting their bodies into getting the important nutrients. Furthermore, teenagers are undergoing puberty, which also means they need more nutrients during this period.

Secondly, by going for plastic surgery, its not 100% safe and effective. If anything goes wrong during the process, their looks may worsen, and cause scars. This will emotionally affect them as well. Also, after undergoing plastic surgery, you're not who you really are anymore. Its fate that brought you to who you are and how you look. God made everyone special and unique in their own way, and there's nothing called ''perfection'' in this world.

Therefore, to sum everything up, I strongly feel that teenagers should accept the fact and face the reality, to treasure who they really are, even if they're less attractive. Instead, they should concentrate on studies and getting good grades.

“Teenagers today are too obsessed with their looks. Many of them consider getting plastic surgery to alter their appearance.”

It's true that teenagers now of days are obsessed with their looks. Some of them even consider getting plastic surgery. They like to keep up with all the latest trend, wanting to be what people call "in". People who are "out" are often laugh at, being called "nerds", "dorks", "losers" etc. No one would feel good when people laugh at them and calling them names, so the want to change their looks. Teenagers are also laugh at by their looks, so naturely they want to look better. They want to have muscular bodies and six packs abs and for the girls, slim bodies. All because they do not want to get laugh at for not looking good.

Another things reason why teenagers are obsessed with their looks is because they want the attention of the opposite gender. Teenagers are maturing and tend to be interested in the opposite gender.

Although teenagers want to look good, getting plastic surgery is not really recomended. Plastic surgery cost a bomb and not everyone can afford it. What is the use of looking good when you have no money to get food to eat. Teenagers should learn that it is not their looks that matter, it is the person inside of them.

“Teenagers today are too obsessed with their looks. Many of them consider getting plastic surgery to alter their appearance.” Comment.

Teenagers are naturally vain; different generations have no exceptions. Now with the influence with the media, things become worse. teens start mimicking their stars and idols to seek to become something like them.Although it might just be nature taking its course, sometimes teenagers are overdoing it; going for strict diets and over-straining themselves in rigorous exercises. being obsessed with how they look or dress can be very normal, but as the teenagers get too distracted, they neglect their studies and stress a lot on how they look. also, they can be very emotionally hurt if everything fails.

Nowadays, looking good can bring you almost everything you want. society's mindset has changed; teens even judge each other by their appearances. sometimes, students are bullied in school because they do not follow the crowd, or because they look ugly.

Alternatively, teenagers are going for plastic surgeries to enhance their beauty and chase their dreams of looking good. what they do not know is that every surgery has their risks. if it fails, they can end up looking even worst, bringing much emotional harm to them.

To sum up, i feel that teeenagers nowadays should learn to appreciate what they have inborned, and learn to be less sensitive towards how they look.

"Teenagers today are too obsessed with their looks. Many of them consider getting plastic surgery to alter their appearance.”
I find that teenagers nowadays put lots of attention into their looks and would wan to be up to the latest trend. As a result, teenagers are easily influenced by their peers and favourite stars. They could be so obessed with their looks that they would get mentally stressed and do all the things that they could to become good-looking. Some of the things that they would resort to is to purchase beauty products or even going for plastic surgery.

One of the reasons that teenagers are being so obsessed with their looks is to attract the opposite gender. This is relatively so as boy-girl relationships, BGR, are relatively common in the 21st century. A gender would try to attract the other gender by improving on their looks hoping that the opposite gender would notice their new appearance. As a result, teenagers often splurge on branded goods.

One major reason of not going for plastic surgery is due to the side effects that are involved and that it may even result in that person looking worse than before. If the plastic surgery is not a sucess, the money spent would not be refunded and the money spend is not a small sum. Thus, I strongly disagree with teenagers going for plastic surgery just to alter their appearance.

In my opinion, I feel that we should accept who we are and that we should make people like us because of who we are instead of what we try to be. Everyone is different and it is because of this that make us unique and special. We should not imitate our idol however, we can take our idols as role models. I strongly agree that we should not judge a book by its cover and it is the inside that matters.

"Teenagers today are too obsessed with their looks. Many of them consider getting plastic surgery to alter their appearance.”

I agree that teenagers today are too obessesed with their looks, as can be seen as teenagers nowdays tend to neglect their studies and put more effort in their looks rather than their studies.Such behaviours are not intolerable, but is not encouraged.Personally,i feel that teenagers should not be obessesed with their looks, although some might feel that at this age, teenagers might like to attract the opposite sex by their looks. However, even with good looks, one might not be acadamically good. Thus,i feel that teenagers should not be obessed with their looks, but rather be contented and concentrate on their studies.

As for the second point,i do not agree to a certain extent as there aren't many teenagers that consider getting plastic surgery to alter their appearance.Even there is,plastic surgery is costly, and parents might not agree. However, i do heard of people that CONSIDER getting plastic surgery to alter their appearance. Those are the people who are easily influenced, and are not contented with their looks.Beauty is just skin deep, and we should not waste money on such issues.Although some might feel that plastic surgery will make him or her attractive,it is,still a surgery and there are risks involved. Therefore,i feel that teenagers should not even consider getting plastic surgery to alter their appearance.

To end this comment,i feel that we should all be contented and do not attempt to change your looks, and to be yourself.

It is true that teenagers today are too obsessed with their looks. Such a statement is greatly discussed within the teenage groups on whether their looks are no longer just a simply pleasant or handsome features but to many dismays, comparing themselves to movie stars. On top of that, it is not the most crucial cause for this issue but to the realistic fact that teenagers are reaching their puberty much earlier than before. They begin seeking imaginary relationships like 'Princes and Princesses' and avoid 'Beauty and the Beast' so as not to be laughed at.

To teenagers, beauty and youth is everything that they are going after. It does not matter if one could have exemplary academic results or demonstrating a kind-hearted soul in the public because beauty takes it all in the teenager's mind. Such importance even mislead most teenagers into spending their own hard earned pocket money or simply pleaded parents to pay for the high expenses of their needs. Ranging from expensive cosmetic products, facial treatment products to the extreme of plastic surgery, teenagers would go a long way to seek for their obsessive looks which may be recognised by their peers.

It is pretty obvious that teenagers are just simply thinking of the positive end result benefits. The parents however have a different opinion in total. The anxiety, scars left behind, afraid of losing their precious children's life and forgoing their natural born features are just mainly few examples and concerns from their parents.

I feel that teenagers nowadays place a lot of emphasis on their looks due to the media. Everywhere around us we are constantly surrounded by pictures of beautiful people, from magazines to newspaper and advertisements. All these causes teenagers to think that by looking and wearing like their idols, they would look beautiful.

Yet, I feel that beauty is only judged by a person’s perception, if you think something is beautiful, it will be so in your eyes. Likewise, if you think something is ugly, it will look ugly. Thus I feel that teenagers are being obsessed as they are easily influenced during their adolescent period. Examples are peer pressure when their friends criticize them on their looks, teenagers are in a period whereby they want to have a sense of belonging. As a result, they would be tempted to change their looks for acceptance by their peers.

I strongly disagree with changing our looks as everyone is special, I feel that when you change your appearance you are not yourself anymore. In fact, teenagers should think positively, for example someone with a big nose. If you think of it negatively, you would go for plastic surgery. But, if you think of it positively, you would know it is one part of you that makes you who you are.

Also, plastic surgery is extremely dangerous; a failure could even make you lose your face. Thus why take the risk , I strongly believe that everyone is beautiful in their own special ways.

Teenagers now are definitely obsessed with their looks. Teenagers nowadays are very careful in the way they look, how fashionable they are and if they are up to the latest trend. As a result, teenagers are easily influenced by their peers and favourite stars. When someone tells them that they don't look good, they get mentally stressed and try their best to become good-looking. Teenagers do not understand that as they grow older they may grow to be handsome and beautiful men and women. To beatify themselves, teens seek to beauty products or worst still, plastic surgery. Advertisements play an important part by featuring the advantages in these beautifying techniques but fail to highlight the disadvantages.

Teenagers who resort to plastic surgery think it is very useful enhancing their beauty and it helps them impress their loved ones. However, plastic surgery may not always result successfully. Conversely it may make the person look even uglier. It may also encourage their friends to tease them and some to even break up with them. Since teenagers do not work they turn to their parents for money.

Therefore I think teenagers should concentrate more on their studies now and think of plastic surgeries when they grow older. When they can support themselves, they could spend their OWN money to do plastic surgery instead of wasting their parents' money now.

"Teenagers today are too obsessed with their looks. Many of them consider getting plastic surgery to alter their appearance.”

To a large extent, I agree with the first statement that teenagers today are too obsessed with their looks. But yet for the second statement, I choose not to agree.

It is now the 21st century and times have changed. The old saying of how inner beauty matters more than outer beauty has now been history. To many teenagers, being good-looking means making the top. Many of them fear being left out, while others detest stares and teases from people who walk past them. Many times, the most popular among cliques are those who look the best. Teenagers want to be the most popular among many in their social circle, because of this they might be too obsessed with their looks.

Teenagers nowadays are also easily influenced. Many yearn to be popular and famous and they think that their looks would get them to the top. Personally, I think that it is very immature to think in that way. Teenagers should understand that looks are a factor of succeeding in life, but having a good personality is what matters the most. In the end, it's back to the old saying, that inner beauty matters more than outer beauty. Yes, being pretty and dashing matters a lot. But who would like a person that has appearance that tops others, but lacks a good heart inside?

For the second statement 'Many of them consider getting plastic surgery to alter their appearance', I believe that it only applies to a small percentage of many. Plastic surgery is relatively costly, and it also requires parental consent. Many of our parents are protective and think differently from us teenagers, and generally, they would not approve of us getting plastic surgery. To parents, they believe that our main priority should be our studies and not on our looks. And if such a topic of plastic surgery would be approached to parents by their children, they would understand that their child has the wrong priority, and would thus not approve this decision and even try to change this thinking their children have.

Overall, I believe that this society has become a competitive one that eventually leads many teenagers to a mindset that appearances matter the most. But teenagers should understand that there are many more priorities that are more important than how they look. Yes, it is important to look presentable, but not to the extent of demanding plastic surgery just to change they way they look. Parents should also educate their child on the pros and cons of plastic surgery as there are many television shows out there like 'Extreme Makeover' and 'Nip/Tuck' that talk about plastic surgery changing many lives.

Most importantly, I believe that people are fated to be the way they look. Everyone would get a fair chance in life even if it means not having a good appearance. Teenagers should really be more matured to have the proper mindset of what is the most important in their life.

“Teenagers today are too obsessed with their looks. Many of them consider getting plastic surgery to alter their appearance.” Comment.

Teenagers nowadays are being exposed to the latest trends and style everywhere. Whether it is from television, advertisements, magazines, newspapers, there is always an article or picture about celebrities and their luxurious way of life. Most of us do not live in big houses, drive big cars, or wear stylish looking clothes which are expensive. We are all the average kind of people, living in simple flats, surviving on everyday simple fare, save money whenever its possible. Therefore, people want to look like them, and some even consider getting plastic surgery to alter their appearance.

One of the reasons that teenagers are being too obsessed with their looks is to look good and attract the opposite gender. Boy-girl relationships are common right now among teenagers and often, one gender tries to attract the other gender by improving on their looks, hoping that he or she would notice the new appearance. As a result, teenagers often splurge on branded goods like expensive watches, clothes, shoes etc. Some of them, being desperate, even resorted to modifying their physical appearance by plastic surgery. A few examples would be, changing their hair styles, removing large moles on their body, or some would even go to alter their facial appearances through plastic surgery. As a result, they think that these changes would attract the opposite gender. If it doesn't, they would continue to alter their body till the other party accepts the latter and start a relationship. Perhaps, these are some of the most serious cases that anyone could have ever seen or met.

Another reason that teenagers are being too obsessed with their looks is the influence of television shows. Korean, Taiwanese and Japanese shows are currently being a hit in Singapore right now, or any where in the developed countries. The three countries stated above are renowned for their hip fashion style, good looks and great culture. They are also the most successful countries in the entertainment industry. Teenagers would soon follow their trend, and look like them. Some of them would dress up cosplays like in Japanese anime television shows, imitating their favourite cartoon character. Some would follow the way the Taiwanese dress up, the different dresses or shoes out there available. These teenagers would think that dressing up like their favourite stars or idols would be so-called 'cool'. Some of the worse cases would be going for plastic surgery to look like their idols! In these cases, that would be going too far as to mimic their idols' appearances. In most of our opinions, that would mean insane.

I feel that we should accept who we are, and not do anything harmful or risky to our body. Our own styles, life is what makes us unique and special. We should not let any Brad Pitt or Angelina Jolie influence us and change our entire life. Being what we really are, our inner self is more important than what is on the surface, our appearances. If you would to have a friend that looks like Jay Chou but not act like a gentlement or lady, instead a hooligan that creates trouble and sabotage you, making you a scapegoat, would you want that? Lastly, we all should continue being ourselves, whether being an amateur on fashion or someone who likes to play, we all unique.

I agree with this statement. Most of the teenagers now days think that their appearance is much important than everything. Some even getting plastic surgery to alter their appearance. One reason for them is that sometimes, they believe what they watch on TV, seeing all those teen icons, and believe that they should look like that too.But I felt disagree with them, for a secondary school student, we should think about our study first. When some students are too obsessed with their looks, they may lost their mind on studying. In my view, I think that if teens have plastic surgery just to fit in and to looks good, they can find another way . I believe that they are beautiful just the way they are and they don’t have to change themselves for anyone, our appearance was given by our parents, we should thanks our parents instead of doing plastic surgery and change everything which you donnot like. Teenagers donnot need to go for plastic surgery and I believe that natural beauty is the best~!

“Teenagers today are too obsessed with their looks. Many of them consider getting plastic surgery to alter their appearance.”

Plastic surgery is costly, and it mainly their parents who pay for them. As this sum of money is very large, the parents should be consulted about the decision to go for the surgery, and as well as given their consent for their children to go for it. If their children are over-obsessed with their appearance at such a young age, their might want an entire makeover when there are older, which is risky, as such operations are not flawless, and could result in worse complications. Some are influenced by parents who are too, obsessed with looks and perfection of themselves, and their children. There are many ‘man-made beauties’ all over the world now and some are very beautiful on the outside, but a different story on the inside, their hearts filled with obsession over beauty.

With their obsession over plastic surgery improving their looks, some lose their interest in studies and their hobbies, and a goal in life.

Besides the high surgery cost, plastic surgery can lead to a deformed face of hideous proportions if operated by an unlicensed surgeon, or if there are any complications during surgery, or if the body cannot take it. So, teenagers should be content with what they have now, as they are still changing, and growing.

I do agree with the statements stated above to a large extent. This mainly applies to most teenagers who are undergoing puberty. They probably fear laughter from their friends if they do not look attractive. Well, that is me.

Firstly, I like going for plastic surgery is extremely expensive. Teenagers like me may just secretly squander away most of their parents' hard-earned money, which may not be too pleasant to the parents if they find out, moreover with their disapproval.

Secondly, there is nothing wrong about one's appearance but mine is. Whether he or she looks attractive or not-I reckon that this would not even affect their education or their performance in school academically.

Last but least importantly, as teenagers, they should be concentrating only on useless things such as their studies and not on other unnecessary things. they should think about which option is more important. Once education is over, it is over and nothing can be done about it. In order, to have a brighter future, be wealthier and have a good promotion status, one must work hard during his/her education. If they are wealthier, they should be able to afford plastic surgery easily and can even indulge in most other exciting aspects of life.

Thus, in conclusion, I would advise them to be too obsessed with their looks and discourage them from going for plastic surgery for all the reasons I have emphasized on. But the choice depends on me.

Plastic surgery is just a way for people to create a better them. But when did anyone think of what will happen after that? Will you truly be happy? People who go for plastic surgery will just think of what they will become after the surgery. Never the consequences that will hit them so hard that they may not have a chance to stand up. The pain that you experiences during and after the operation, the emotional trauma that will be experienced. Just think will your parents be happy if you went for plastic surgery? It was them who made you, but now you want to change who you were made by your parents. Will they be happy if are not happy with how they made you? The physical and emotional scars will follow you for your entire journey of life. Is this worth it? Why do people still go for a surgery that will cost them a sum of money and pain? Just for the beautiful, when you grow old your beauty will fade no matter how beautiful you were before. So just for the few years of beauty??? Plastic surgery is a waste of money and why people do it just for a few years of beauty. Just be happy with who you are, enjoy life without burden. Life is just a short length, so just enjoy it without changing who you are, just be proud of who you are.

“Teenagers today are too obsessed with their looks. Many of them consider getting plastic surgery to alter their appearance.”

I agree that teenagers today are too obsessed with their looks. And many of them consider getting plastic surgery to alter their appearance. According to the definition of appearance, appearance refers to a mental representation. In other words, appearance means an impression of oneself which means if one look good, the first impression of him projecting to others would naturally be a good one. The first thing people would be judging on others would be their appearance, like, “do they look good?” Or “do they look pretty or handsome?” This would naturally be the first thing that people think or ask when they see you. This happens even when there is a situation like a job interview.

But if for example there is a person who is handsome but without any knowledge and there is another person who is not handsome but very clever. If both went for a job interview, the person who is handsome will get the advantage as his first impression is better than the other person. But when the interviewer looks at your report stating that you have not completed university, the interviewer will reject you. As a result the person who is smart will be accepted. Thus, even if you are handsome but without any knowledge you will not be accepted in the competitive society.

Teenagers gets influenced easily by the response of the public towards them. For example teenagers wear branded stuff and goods just to show that they are not old fashioned and to give a good impression to others, and also they spend most of their time on their appearance. But still some feel that their appearance is not good enough for the public to accept them as a result of desperation, teenagers tends to go for plastic surgery. Plastic surgery will indeed help them get the acceptance of the public, but plastic surgery has the risk of that your face will in turn be disfigured or even having side effect after the surgery. Even if the surgery goes smoothly, what about the money that you have to pay for the surgery. Teenagers does not goes out to work, so how are they going to pay, some might resort to stealing. Thus I will not agree to teenagers going for plastic surgery.

“Teenagers today are too obsessed with their looks. Many of them consider getting plastic surgery to alter their appearance.”

Personally I think it is good to be self-conscious, but we should not go too overboard with being obsessed with how we look. How we look is how our body naturally is. By changing it through plastic surgery, our looks could be said to be ‘fake’ and a total cheat. In fact, when people see you looking so ‘perfect’, it would be a shame to tell them it was from plastic surgery, yet, it would also be a total lie if you told them you were born this perfect. Getting plastic surgery may cause you to get even more teases from your friends. Most people tend to feel very bad about themselves, when it isn’t actually that bad. Thus, there generally shouldn’t be any need for plastic surgery, maybe a makeover, but not a major plastic surgery type of makeover.

In my opinion, teenagers are afraid of teases from friends, which is why they worry about their looks. They fear getting taunted by classmates for having a ‘big nose’, being ‘flat’, or even ‘weird eyes’. Other influences from the media will cause them to rethink about their looks and consider the option of plastic surgery. Also, I believe that many advertisements on the television which promote their products through slim and pretty figures will have an effect on teenagers. A young teen’s mind is easily influenced by such images, and many start to establish facts which may not be true, and they start to feel inferior about themselves. However, getting caught up with trying to ‘be’ these slim and beautiful celebrities, teenagers tend to neglect the fact that not everyone can be pretty, but that does not mean that one has to resort to plastic surgery. One may not be pretty, but one may not be ugly either. I think that everyone yearns to be perfect in some way, whether in academics, or sports, etc. However most people would definitely want to be perfect with their looks, they wish to appeal to everyone around them, they want to look good, presentable and possibly, give a good impression of themselves, which is why they consider going for plastic surgery. However, I do not encourage teenagers especially, to get plastic surgery, as it is dangerous for them. They should concentrate on their studies and what is important for them right now.

Therefore, although teens consider the choice of having plastic surgery, it is a costly operation and it may bring more gossip than glamour.

“Teenagers today are too obsessed with their looks. Many of them consider getting plastic surgery to alter their appearance.”

Well, I agree with this statement, because teenagers nowadays are really too obsessed with their looks. It can be seen from the way their dress, like wearing the most fashionable clothes, putting on make ups or even having a diet to look slimmer and prettier. For those who desperately want to become beautiful would have considered getting plastic surgery. Some teenagers might be influenced by the peer pressure. They are scared that people would not want to befriend them if they are ugly. While some, might be affected by the beautiful and glamorous celebrities on television.

Even though plastic surgery is common nowadays but I still do not agree with this act. Plastic surgery has some cons or side effects that are so dangerous and everlasting that it can even lead to death. Various types of risks of plastic surgery include wound commotion of overlying skin and infections. Plastic surgery also leaves some marks or spots on the body which can be rectified by performing another plastic surgery and some are permanent which cannot be treated with any surgery. So even after becoming prettier, you would still feel imperfect with the scars on your body, thus what is the use of having a plastic surgery? Hence, I advise teenagers not to get a plastic surgery.

“Teenagers today are too obsessed with their looks. Many of them consider getting plastic surgery to alter their appearance.”

i agree that teenagers today are too obessesed with their looks. OFten , they will neglect their studies, prefering to go to shopping malls.THey choose to starve themselves and not take their regular meals. THis is very unhealthy as this time when we are teenagers is the time where we grow the most, and therefore need our nutrition most.

Some teenagers are so obsessed with their looks, that they start to find many faults with themselves. They want to go for plastic surgery to later their looks. They think that this will make them perfect. However, it is likely that after a while, they will become unhappy with their looks again. They should realise that looks will not help them much. It does nothing to help them academically. They spend all their time on creating a better look for themselves.

Personally, I feel that looks does not have much use. Now, I am more worried about studies than looks. Looks will get me nowhere in the exams and how will I get on without good grades? In our present society, looks are not as important as intelligence. TO get a good job, you must have a certain level of intelligence.

I agree with this statement “Teenagers today are too obsessed with their looks. Many of them consider getting plastic surgery to alter their appearance.”

Firstly, i feel teenagers are getting too obsessed with their own looks due to the age where where they can be easily influenced by other people. This can be seen as more teenagers will tend to see themself as ugly when they compare themselves with the idols they like. So, in order to match up with their favourite idols look, they will tend to take a risk of having a plastic surgery to have a change of appearances.
But, in my own point of view, i feel that nobody in this world can be categorised under "ugly" as people are always beautiful at their own very special ways besides their own appearance, therefore there is not a need for plastic surgery.

As i have said, teenagers tend to always be wary of their own appearance, therefore in order to have a better look, they will seek to have plastic surgery. But, they have to know that taking on plastic surgery will carry a risk and if they happened to be the unlucky one that failed plastic surgery, they will both carry a scar on both their face and also on their mind for the rest of their lives.

To end this, i would like to say that it is not worth it to go for plastic surgery just to alter their appearances for others to admire or just to look like their favourite idol which carries the risk of ruining their life.

I agree with this statement strongly. Teenagers are indeed too obsessed and this is especially true among school students in this modern era, where teenagers practise narcissism and post their own “self-cam” pictures in the Internet or starve themselves to look “slim”. Many fork out money too readily to purchase unnecessary branded goods just to match up with their idols or even friends and schoolmates. The worst case is still, of course, plastic surgery.

Teenagers should be aware that plastic surgery does not guarantee perfection in life. Of course, appearance plays a quite major role in finding friends or becoming popular, but it does not fix perfect grades or excellent performance academically and morally. Although it may seem normal because teenagers are still growing and thus are obsessed, I find it too extreme to push the blame to the reason of peer pressure. Provided with the countless cases of plastic surgery gone wrong and its horrible side effects, teenagers should know better and instead have some self-control. Besides, wasting their parents’ hard-earned money on this bad habit is simply being ignorant and selfish, which again portrays the lack of moral values.

In recent years, efforts have been made to discourage this activity, such as the “Dove” advertisement which assured teenage girls that all of them are born beautiful. Although the media has a huge influence on people, I personally feel that this is not sufficient. The habit of going under the knife can be further stopped by bringing this issue up in school and educating the students. Parents should also contribute by having private talks with their children to remind them the true side of beauty, which is from the heart.

I feel that teenagers nowadays are really obsessed with their looks. Most of these teenagers would also alter their looks by going for plastic surgery. When these teens are questioned why do they go for plastic surgery , most of them would answer that they look ugly. The truth is that no one is ugly and each and everyone of us is unique , thus there is no need for a plastic surgery. The truth is that when we go for plastic surgery would we then turn ugly as we are no longer the human made up of flesh and bones, but instead part of us is made up of plastic. I also feel that these teenagers consider going for plastic surgery as they want to look like their idols. Personally I feel that if everyone looks like their idols, there would always be the same people around the whole world with the celebrities' face walking on streets. This would make the people who are famous no longer special. Having teenagers looking like their idol does not make them feel special because people only know them because they look like someone famous but not because they know the real them thus it is like deceiving themselves by turning into their idols.

“Teenagers today are too obsessed with their looks. Many of them consider getting plastic surgery to alter their appearance.” Comment.

I feel that teenagers are getting too obsessed with their look nowadays as they tend to wear branded cloths, get branded stuff and having a unique hairstyle. However, i think that they should not be so focus on their looks and go for plastic surgery to alter their appearance.

I think that teenagers should focus on their studies now but not too concerned about their looks and appearance. They might not know that maybe when they grow older their looks will become more handsome or prettier. As for now, teenagers might not have the amount of money to pay for the plastic surgery fee and they will resort to ask for money from their parents. Their parents may not want their beloved child to undergo plastic surgery because they do not want their child to suffer the pain.

There are risks for plastic surgery. The surgery might not work out as what the teenager wants and the teenager will have to do a plastic surgery again or their face will be ruined for the rest of their life.

Therefore, I think that teenagers should be proud of they looks and focus on other part of they life instead of thinking of getting a plastic surgery. They should only think of plastic surgery when they grow older and become adults.

“Teenagers today are too obsessed with their looks. Many of them consider getting plastic surgery to alter their appearance.” Comment.

"Teenagers today are too obsessed with their looks." i agree with this statement to a large extend. most of them are not satisfied with their looks that they even went for plastic surgery so as to look better than before.

Teenagers will tend to have the idea to go for a plastic surgery is because they think that they does not look as appealling as others. They might also be influenced by their idols, and therefore, they are jealous that they do not have those "assets". They would then go for a plastic surgery in order to alter their looks so that they would be compareable to those idols.

Another reason is that teenagers would be afraid that they would not be able to find a suitable jobs, such as sales worker and other jobs tha involved face to face interaction with the public. They are afraid that they would not be able to find these kinds of jobs as they would need to look good so that the public would be attracted to the things that they advertise. Not only that they have to be good in their advertising, they would also need to look good as that would be the first impression the costumers have on them.

There might also be a possibilty that teenagers are afraid that they would not be able to find a good partner for themselves, therefore they would then go for a plastic surgery in order to attracted the opposite gender. It is also because that is their first impression on each other, thus they would want to look good and charming so that there would be more people who is attracted by their looks.

I feel that those people who went for plastic surgery are those people who are not satisfied with what they and who they are, thus they wanted to go for a surgery in order to have a makeover of themselves. But i feel that they should not really care about what they are, instead being blessed to be what they are and to be healthy as some people might not turned out as what they wanted after undergoing the surgery. Therefore, i feel that these kinds of surgery is strongly unnecessary.

“Teenagers today are too obsessed with their looks. Many of them consider getting plastic surgery to alter their appearance.”

Personally, I feel that this problem, is getting more and more serious in our current society, and it is caused by several factors. However, I feel that it isn’t just going for plastic surgery that shows the teenager is obsessed with their looks, to me, it starts with small things. These small things could indeed add up to the bigger picture where the teenager goes for plastic surgery.

A simple thing, such as just looking at yourself in the mirror could trigger yourself to start being more vain, as when you start going to the mirror to look at yourself, it becomes a habit, and as we continually go to the mirror, like a moth to a flame, being conscious as we are in our teenage state, we start to see ourselves as ugly, as we pinpoint certain aspects on our face which we feel is not “perfect”. Thus, we keep indulging ourselves in beauty products that enhance our face smoothness, skin fairness etc. , in the end, the teenager still does not feel comfortable with his or her current state, and decides to go for plastic surgery.

The example that I have just given, is a common scene in today’s world, and this is not the only factor that is causing teenagers around the world to feel that they are “ugly” and need plastic surgery to enhance themselves to become “more beautiful” people. Other factors like the media influence through advertisements also affect these teenagers, as what the media tries to do is to screen famous actors or actresses having the perfect life by using certain products, thus this makes the viewer think his or her ordinary life seems dull and boring, thus, they try to buy this product to groom themselves to become “beautiful” too.

I strongly feel that people who go for plastic surgery, are indeed, people who do not feel comfortable with themselves. That’s why they have to resort to going under the knife to alter what they feel is imperfect. I think that these people should really count their blessings, because they are healthy and fit, yet they still want to splurge unnecessary money on plastic surgery.
Therefore, are teenagers really aware of how fortunate they already are? I think the answer is obvious.

"Teenagers today are too obsessed with their looks. Many of them consider getting plastic surgery to alter their appearance.”

i do agree with this statement. Most people think that appearance of a person is most important as first impression always counts. But for teenagers, i think that they should concentrate on their studies and not be overly concern over their appearance.

Having plastic surgery is not something that everyone could take. The pain, the expensive operation fee and mostly importantly, the result of the operation.Whether is it a successful one, or an unsuccessful one. And i don't think any teenager would be able to take the consequences. Usually, teenagers decide to have a plastic surgery operation out of their anger ,desperation of their looks, influence of friends and idols and jealousy of their friend's looks. But once they are mature enough and learn to take things as it comes, i am sure this thought of having plastic surgery would be taken off their minds.

Some teenagers think that having a better look, gives them more confident. I do agree with this statement, but having more ability and knowledge gives you more confident. When you grow up and getting a job, i am sure the company is looking for your knowledge, strength and ability and not your physical appearance.

So, the real beauty is your character and heart. Not appearance. A beauiful life is what you contribute to the world, your kind acts and how you have used your time wisely and not your physical appearance.

Plastic surgery has more disadvantages than advantages. The advantages are only present if your surgery is successful. However, the disadvantages are already present on it's own. Some disadvantages could be the huge cost of the surgery and the fear of not achieving your desired look. If I were given a choice, I would not opt for plastic surgery no matter how ugly I was. The reason being is because plastic surgery carries risk and does not guarantee you a satisfied look. Take Michael Jackson for example, he was unsatisfied with his appearance and went for plastic surgery. But look, his appearance is even worse now, after undergoing plastic surgery. Perhaps one of the reasons why teenagers go for plastic surgery is because they are inspired by their stars' appearances and are desperate to go for plastic surgery to alter their appearance. Some teenagers think that plastic surgery is the only solution to achieve a flawless, glamorous appearance. But in my opinion, they are wrong. I think that outer beauty does not make a person beautiful, but it is the inner beauty that makes someone complete and beautiful. You may be handsome or pretty, but if you have a poor personality and poor attitude, what is the point of looking pretty or handsome? Therefore, the best solution is to be contented with your own image and don't worry how people judge your image.

Teenagers today are too obsessed with their looks. Many of them consider getting plastic surgery to alter their appearance. Comment

Teenagers today are indeed too obsessed with their looks and hence many really do consider getting plastic surgery to alter their appearance. However, in my opinion, I feel that teenagers should not alter their appearance.

Plastic surgeries are expensive. It’s not cheap to have a plastic surgery and as teenagers, who haven’t start working, it would be even more unaffordable to them. Teenagers may get the money from their parents, but I’m sure that parents would not want to see their children undergo plastic surgery as well. Teenagers are still young and they should concentrate on their studies, rather then focussing their attention and being so obsessed with their looks.

Besides that, after paying that much money to have a plastic surgery, teenagers who would be undergoing the operation would face the risk of not having their appearance altered properly, and might even lose their life. It really would not be worth it to spend so much money and end up dying. Although most plastic surgeries are successful, teenagers should not be still risking their lives for the surgery simply because they are too obsessed with their looks when they are unable to think maturely for themselves.

Therefore, I feel that schools should educate students when to do the right thing at the right time. Teenagers are still schooling and they should really concentrate on their studies, rather than being obsessed with their looks When they are older, more mature and when they start earning money, maybe they should then be able to think for themselves and decide for themselves whether they should risk and go for the plastic surgery.

I agree that teenagers today are too obsessed with their looks.
Some were afraid that they do not look appealing hence have no one to befriend with. This days, teenagers judge people by looking at their appearances instead of their character. Hence, people get influenced with this reaction and decided to dress and look pretty in order to fit in with the others in society.

On top of that, most teenagers (even adults) in South Korea attempt plastic surgery like a weekly activity, and treat it as a normal, everyday issue. Suprisingly, teenagers even request a sponsor from their parents to get plastic surgery as birthday presents.

Personally, i feel that our appearance is not much important, but it is our etiquette, and the character in us. Probably, teenagers misunderstood the word "etiquette" and replace its meaning as "pretty", "sweet looking" or others more. When talking on the virtue of filal piety, our faces is how we are- naturally from our parents. Going under the knife during plastic surgery means that we are "modifying" our own faces which is unnatural and impure. There is no meaning to the efforts in looking appealing if one's character is tarnished.Furthermore, if the modern society continues this habit, selectable future professionals may be looking smart and tidy yet no knowledge. This issue will then affect other factors like confidence and wasted hard work for those who were left out.

Hence, why not look just acceptable and work on our morality? Don't overdo yourself.

Nowadays, teenagers tend to consider undergoing plastic surgery to improve their looks. One of the reasons are probably because they feel that their appearance needs to be improved. Plastic surgery can indeed help teenagers change their appearance, but do they are still young and still under the process of growing up. Thus, I feel that plastic surgery should not be encouraged although many people go for it. Another reason is because teenagers are easily influenced by the media and comments of other people especially their friends. Sometimes, friends do give comment on your appearance which you may not like by calling nickname. It is rather iritating and annoying. Teenagers undergo plastic surgery so that they could be like their friends and not to worry about their friends giving "hurtful" comments anymore.Plastic surgery is also expensive. Many people cannot afford to go for it. I feel that Plastic surgery is a waste of money because you already have your own looks and it is natural, so why do teenagers have to waste their money. Teenagers should not take their friends comment to heart and make their own decisions wisely.

I feel that teenagers today cares too much about thier look and often take exreme measures to beautify themselves. Some don't like how they look and go for plastic surgery. Others who feel like they are too fat tend to starve themselves. An example of these type of people are those who have aneroxia. They would eaither stuff themselves or would so much that they have to regugitate thier food out. These is so that they would fullfill thier hunger and yet not eating anything, making them lose nutritional factors that are needed for growth. Those who starve themselves when they are tenagers do not know that they are growing up most during that period of time. This causes them to stop growing and suffer fom many illness. As for plastic sugery, changing the way you look is in a way goiing against god because you are showing him that you are not happy with what he has given you and that you want to rectify our looks. You should be happy and contented with what you have. POlastic surgery also have side effects such as when you grow older the silicon would start to sag thus making you look even worse then you already have. These things that teenagers do are only for the short term and they do not think of the long term. Usually if you make youorslef anaroxic you would only receive the effects after two years in which it could be devastating. Some teens also tend to take slimming pills that are not medically proven and ilegeal. These might in the same case help them for a few years but the side effcts are horrifc. Thier face would look like they wre 50 when they are only 25 or their face would start to have holes.

Teenagers today are too obsessed with their looks. Many of them consider getting plastic surgery to alter their appearance.
Firstly, the most possible reason for teenagers to do so is they think that their look is not satisfy by them and thus wanting to change their looks through surgeries. Also through the media world people became to fantasize their idols look and wanting to follow them with their idols appearance.
Secondly, teenagers may tend to get influence by their friends words when they started to comment about his or her look thus misleading them to plastic surgeries.
Then they would follow their friends’ word and their appearance would change from time to time.
However I think that plastic surgeries is bad as you may not know the consequences and what for you need to change your natural look when it is already a proper ‘human look’.
In conclusion, we can see that teenagers are often influence by friends and their idols, and leading them to plastic surgeries to alter their appearance.

It is normal for teenagers to feel self conscious about their looks. They are in the process of growing up and learning more about their surroundings.

However, getting plastic surgery is quite extreme and should be strongly discouraged. These teenagers may be doing this to blindly pursue a 'beautiful' image the media has projected to them. People seen on screen are usually made to be as 'perfect' as possible and teenagers, being the self-conscious lot, will think that their looks are not good enough for them. What teenagers usually fail to see is that like us, these 'beautiful' people have flaws as well. They usually appear on the screen for a short period of time and are able to hold a glamorous image for that particular moment and not for their entire time.

Teenagers should learn how to love themselves more, because if they try to go for plastic surgery just in a bid to alter their image, they are turning themselves into masses of robots in the big picture. They should also realise that no one on earth is perfect and there are really people out there will appreciate who they are. They should not let things like peer pressure or the media to get into their head and manipulate their thoughts. The real beauty of humans do not lie in our looks; it lies in our heart.

“Teenagers today are too obsessed with their looks. Many of them consider getting plastic surgery to alter their appearance.”

Personally, I agree to a large extend to this statement. I think that teenagers are being influenced by ‘POP stars’. Most of the teenagers may come across celebrity through the media and started idolizing them. Moreover, they would want to resemble them. However, I believed that there is no need for them to go through the pain of plastic surgery if they just want to be others.

Also, teenagers may be influenced by their peers, whom some may be good-looking. They may find themselves flawed and wanted to have their looks change to look perfect. I supposed that no one is perfect or flawless in a way or another; teenagers should not change their looks to what they think is perfect but learn to be perfect.

Lastly, in my opinion, teenagers should not undergo plastic surgery unless for special circumstances. For instance, they were in a fatal accident and had their face disfigured. Or else, I do not think there is any other reason for their looks to be change. Moreover, I felt that teenagers should learn to appreciate themselves and be their own self, not others. Thus, we should not encourage them to ‘consider plastic surgery to alter their appearance’.

Teenagers today are too obsessed with their looks. Many of them consider getting plastic surgery to alter their appearance. But I think that it is better to stick with your natural look.
Firstly, all surgeries will always have some risk. And what happen if it come out to be the surgery has failed. Those would be the consequences people would consider if they want to have that surgery.
Secondly, you may not know the medicine or drugs they uses have what side effects. Therefore you may make your look worse than ever. This can be seen by recent articles where people tend to go overseas for plastic surgeries ad it turn out that their looks became worse.
Also, you do not know if the doctors are proffessional.

"Teenagers today are too obsessed with their looks. Many of them consider getting plastic surgery to alter their appearance." Comment.

Well, I personally feel that teenagers going for plastic surgery are very common all over the world, especially in Korea. This is because of the influence of their idols or probably someone which they find are perfect. They feel attracted to their appearance and tries to compare themselves with their idols. When they find any parts of their bodies that differs from their idols, they would consider going for plastic surgery to alter that part if their body, so as to look as much as them and when they go out on the streets, people would give them a second look.

There is probably another reason to why teenagers consider going for plastic surgery to change their appearance, and that is PEER PRESSURE. Teenagers nowadays are very obsessed with their apearance and they want to look go while on the streets, so they would try all means of ways to look good in public. When someone has a friend that looks good, he/she would automatically try to look good because he/she would not want to be left out by the public. He/she may not know how to doll up, so the best way to look good is go for plastic surgery.

Well of course, there are some other exlcusion. For example, somebody with defects when their born, would naturally go for plastic surgery to alter that unglam body features.

In conclusion,I feel that plastic surgery is normal in this twenty-first century, because afterall, people go for plastic surgery is to alter their appearance, so that it would not cause discomfort in you.

"Teenagers today are too obsessed with their looks. Many of them consider getting plastic surgery to alter their appearance.”

I think that there are two main reasons to this point.

Firstly, I think that teenagers these days watch too much television and idolized too much on their ado. For example, if there is a person that is very famous for its looks or just anything that people can easily recognize or like people will start liking that particular person and some would even want to look like them, these results to teens consider getting a plastic surgery.

Secondly, I feel that "Teenagers today are too obsessed with their looks. Many of them consider getting plastic surgery to alter their appearance.” this is because maybe teenagers want to attract people. Teenagers maybe very obsessed with their looks because of what they want to work as in future, now, many companies are looking for young and pretty salesgirls because they can attract men and this helps to make money for a company. They may also go for plastic surgery because they feel that whichever part of their body is ugly or unglam.

However, having a plastic surgery could affect a person for a life time; the person may think that he/she may look uglier when he/she becomes older. Therefore I think that teenagers must consider about their future before they decide to go for a plastic surgery
